Mother Knows Best
Miteras observed me carefully, placing her hand on mine, she ran her thumb over my knuckles. I loved it every time she did that, it always made me feel safe and protected.

There is an island, long thought lost, and in the center of that island is a mountain. That mountain is the end of the spindle around which the fire of this world was spun from the void.
I could feel pain radiating from Sayeh, such a bone-deep pain that I felt like I was being crushed under the weight of it. I hoped Artemis wasn’t able to feel this.
I paused upon my approach and watched as Artemis leaned against the railing, looking down at the water below. The sun streaked through her windblown hair as her face lit up.
I landed hard on my knees, my snakes hissing and striking at the air in a frenzy as I went down. I screamed in frustration, stood, and pushed my way through the remaining passengers.
