Daddy said…

Hey welcome back…so, if you read my other post, you know what happen earlier…

So, I was flying home…I was so upset and frightened. I had broke my dad’s rule. I’m not supposed to be seen. Like, seen by mortals, unless Zeus commands it. I’m gonna to be in so much trouble, I thought to myself. I flew into the main hall and told the other what had happened. While Hephaestus reviewed the news reports, Ares made a comment. “Hope the little one doesn’t lose her wings over this.” He didn’t see me standing there, panicking.

“NO, NO…not my Wings!” I screamed (okay, maybe a bit dramatic) but I was really scared. I ran to my chambers.

After Hephaestus reviewed the news report, he came and found me. He found:
1.) It was the “Harpies” who were holding my feet and wings.
2.) It was “Hermes” that actually put the staff in my hands and dropped the cards and flyers.
3.) And the moment the staff was placed in my hand, it caused me to go into proclamation mode.
(Thought: If Hermes knew about this why didn’t he stop it? or at least tell me…I thought we were friends). I was now more confused. Why had this happened?

Soon, Daddy came home and told everyone what a wonderful thing I had done and that he was very proud of me (WTFrack). My sister, Athena, wanted to punch Daddy in the face, because he made me cry. Ares wanted to cuss Daddy out, but Hephaestus stopped them both.

“Zeus, did you do this? Did you know about this?” Hephaestus asked.

“Yes of course. It was spectacular!” Zeus responded.

“Father, Nike has been crying since she came home,” Ares growled.

“She fears your going to take her wings,” snapped Athena.

“What? No, I would never…where is she now?” Zeus asked.

“Her chambers, but Father…” Athena tried to stop him.

Zeus rushed to my room and began knocking on my door, repeatedly. “Nike, let me in. I must speak with you,” Zeus begged.

“My Lord Zeus,” Bia said, bowing as she opened the door.

“Please, my Lord, don’t take our little one’s wing,” my elder brother Kratos pleaded as Zeus entered my room

“Kratos, Bia, and Zelus, please leave us. And no one is losing their wings today or ever.” The three of them left the room.

Zeus walked into the room and came up to me with outstretched arms. “Come here, child,” he said, all lovey dovey dad-like (no sarcasm).

I hesitated, but seeing the kindness in his eyes, I knew I was safe. I ran to him. “Daddy, please forgive me.”

“Oh, my dear child there is nothing to forgive.” He embraced me tightly. “You did nothing wrong.”

“But the mortals they saw…”

“It’s all right. You did a fine job.”

“You knew that was going to happen?” I asked, pulling away from him a bit.

“Yes, Nike, I didn’t mean to frighten you. Will you forgive me?” he asked. “I thought you’d have a different reaction.”

“Oh Daddy, I was really scared and extremely shocked. I thought someone had drugged me or something.” I squeezed him tightly.

“Well about that…” Zeus started to say.

“Daddy?” I looked up at him.

“It was merely a spell to make you think that you were in mortal clothing. I needed a spontaneous reaction from them and you gave it to them.” He held me close to him “Trust me, I’d never hurt you. I love you. You know that, right?”

“Yes, Dad, I forgive you,” I said, while pushing away from him and crossing my arms. As sternly as I could, I said, “However, trust is earned.” Looking up at him, I gave him a wink. “Of course I trust you, Daddy.” I leaned against him, kissing him on his cheek. “Just don’t do that again.”

Daddy reached around me. “Come here, you little rascal,” he chuckled, giving me another hug. “Thank you.” He kissing my forehead, gently placed me on my bed and stood up. He started to walk away from me, but looked back for a moment. “Oh, and Nike?”

“Yes, Daddy?”

“Don’t tell the others; they’d never let me live it down,” Daddy laughed as he left.

I laughed as well. “Too late, Daddy, I’m sure they heard you, being immortals and all. You owe me one, Dad,” I shouted after him. Closing my door, I thought, “Daddy said he loved me.”
